Lectures and Discussions

Misnomer Dance Theater's Artistic Director, Chris Elam, is available to present talks for audiences at theaters, universities, and other venues in yout community.

An advocate of the smart use of technology for audience engagement in the arts, Elam has been an invited speaker at many of the country’s foremost arts, business and technology conferences,including Fortune Magazine’s Brainstorm technology conference, Dance/USA, and TEDx. 

An active traveler, Elam's contemporary choreography is informed by inter-cultural research and exploration. He has lived and performed with a Topeng dance master in Indonesia, and has performed and taught in countries ranging from Brazil and Cuba to Turkey, Holland and Ukraine. Elam draws upon these experiences in his talks and presentations.
