Company Performances for Theaters

Misnomer's dances are delightful and unique. The company has been presented in venues ranging from an 860-seat proscenium stage, to black box theaters, galleries and site-specific locations. Performances range from ten minutes to two hours, drawing on the new works that Misnomer develops for our NYC premieres, as well as from our Company repertoire built since 1998. Talks and workshops are also available, adding to an enriching experience.

“Elam's dances burst with distinctiveness ... he is a talent, no doubt about it... Mr. Elam is well on his way to establishing himself as an important voice in downtown dance.”  - New York Times

"Misnomer Dance Theater hit town with a force I haven't seen since the early days of Mark Morris.“ - The Village Voice

Bizarre and comical, Elam's Misnomer Dance Theater blurs the line between humans behaving weirdly and animals at play. - Dance Magazine
